Mission / Goals / Brief History

  In part, our mission is to promote excellence, education, ethical conduct and the enhancement of the paralegal profession. LVVPA continually works hard to raise its professional standards, and strives to implement continuing education requirements for voting membership.

  Our goals include serving the needs and interests of paralegals in the Las Vegas Valley area, and educating employers of the many roles that paralegals play in the delivery of legal services. LVVPA encourages a high degree of professional standards and ethics among LVVPA members. LVVPA supports and promotes the professional goals of NALA.

  LVVPA, formerly known as NPA, and before that, CCOLA, was founded in 1978 by a group of paralegals recognizing a need for a professional association for paralegals. LVVPA is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and Committee Chairs, elected each May by its voting members.

WELCOME TO LVVPA

The Las Vegas Valley Paralegal Association (LVVPA) is a professional association for paralegals and legal assistants in the Las Vegas Valley. 


We paralegals, working together with dedication and devotion, hope to promote the advancement of the paralegal profession in the Las Vegas community and surrounding areas, statewide, and nationally. 


This can be accomplished by advocation of our presence in the legal community, and encouraging high professional and ethical standards in the education, training, and the employment of qualified paralegals.


LVVPA is affiliated with the National Association of Legal Assistants/Paralegals (NALA).

 Members:     Please Register on this Website (See link above beneath the date).  You can update your own information when changes occur, receive information for all meetings, votes, events, and job postings.

Memberships extended to May 31st:     Current memberships are extended to May 31, 2013.  The annual membership will be from June 1st through May 31st of each year.  This is in line with the Annual Meeting which is held in May Please complete the Membership Application and send it in to activate your access to the jobs and member only sections!  If you did not get a renewal notice email, please contact us through the website. Information will be emailed to you. 

 

Please be sure to check the EVENTS CALENDAR to find out the topic and meeting location for each General Meeting. 

General Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month, with the exception of July and August (dark.)

To be eligible for these positions, you must be an Active Voting member in good standing.  The NALA Liaison must also be a member in good standing with NALA.
Volunteers are also needed for the following positions, which are appointed by the Board:
Parliamentarian
Education Chairperson
Public Relations Chairperson
Pro Bono/Community Relations Chairperson
Website Chairperson
