Member: Mary Sedillo | CPMary Sedillo, C.P. has been a paralegal in Las Vegas since 1994. She has pursued her paralegal education by graduating and receiving a Paralegal Certificate from the Paralegal Studies program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), graduating from the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) with an Associates of Applied Science Degree - Legal Assistant/Paralegal, and obtaining a certified paralegal (C.P.) designation from the National Association of Legal Assistants/Paralegals (NALA). Her paralegal work history has included working in law firms specializing in various areas of law including general civil litigation, construction law, mechanic’s liens, foreclosures, construction defect, personal injury, domestic, and insurance defense. Mary was a member of the former paralegal association, Clark County Organization of Legal Assistants (CCOLA) from 1995 through 2000, and has been a member of the Nevada Paralegal Association (NPA) since 2005.

Member: Linda Soeder | CP
Linda Soeder was elected to the position of Vice-President of the Nevada Paralegal Association to serve for the term 2010-2012. She was previously the Secretary of the Association. Linda is originally from Atlantic City, New Jersey, and moved to Las Vegas in 1999. After working in the Casino industry for 25 years, she decided to pursue a career in the legal field. Linda was a paralegal at Harrah’s (now Caesars) Corporate offices for 6 years and is currently working at Global Cash Access as a Licensing Paralegal. Linda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing and obtained her paralegal certificate from the Paralegal Studies program at UNLV. Linda has been a Certified Paralegal since 2009. Her paralegal work is in the area of gaming licensing regulatory compliance. |

Member: Diane Climer
Diane Climer was elected to the position of Treasurer in May 2011. Previously Diane served as as the Public Relations Chair. Diane joined the Nevada Paralegal Association at the same time as enrolling and pursuing her paralegal certificate from the Paralegal Studies program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in the spring of 2008. She is currently employed at Wyndham, and is an active volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and Legal Aid. Diane looks forward to furthering her paralegal education in taking the Certified Paralegal exam with NALA next year. |

NPA Title: NALA Liaison
Member: Pat Altstatt | ACPPat Altstatt is employed as a paralegal and office administrator with the law firm of Anthony A. Zmaila Limited PLLC. Pat began her legal career in 1973 and started working as a paralegal in 1990. She received her certified paralegal designation from the National Association of Legal Assistants (“NALA”) in 2004 and passed the bankruptcy specialty examination in 2005 to earn her advanced certified paralegal designation. Pat has co-authored several articles in the state and county bar publications and served on a panel discussion with homeowner association managers regarding bankruptcy issues. Pat is a former president of NPA and has also served in various other NPA officer capacities. Pat is an active member of NALA and serves as the NALA liaison for NPA. |

NPA Title: Parlimentarian
Member: Connie ValentineIn May 2011, Connie Valentine was appointed to the position of Parliamentarian. She has served NPA as Treasurer during 2009 - 2011 and was formerly the Secretary and the NALA Liaison. Connie is employed as a paralegal and Collection Supervisor with Wanderer Law P.C. She has been at her current job for 16 years working primarily in the creditor rights and civil litigation fields as well as handling the computer systems. Connie has been a member of NALA for the past ten years. Connie is almost a Las Vegas native having relocated from upstate New York in 1981. Connie began her Las Vegas legal career with the Riviera Hotel in their collections department. |

NPA Title: LAD Liaison
Member: Lissa Treadway | ACP, CBALissa Treadway, Advanced Certified Paralegal, is Secretary of the Nevada Paralegal Association for the term 2010-2011. Lissa has served as Chair of the Scholarship Committee and Student Liaison. She is also a member of the Legal Assistants Division of the State Bar of Nevada and the National Association of Legal Assistants (“NALA”). Lissa obtained her Certified Legal Assistant designation from NALA in September of 1996, and obtained her Advanced Certified Paralegal certification in the area of bankruptcy from NALA in September of 2004. She obtained her Certified Bankruptcy Assistant designation from the Association of Bankruptcy Judicial Assistants in November of 2005. Lissa has been employed as a paralegal with the law firm of Shea & Carlyon, Ltd. since 1996 and primarily practices in the area of creditor rights, bankruptcy and civil litigation. She has been employed in the legal profession since 1988 and previously served as Vice President/Membership Chair and President of the NPA. |

NPA Title: Education Chair
Member: Carolyn Spoletini | CPCarolyn Spoletini works at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP in the Gaming Department and provides back up to the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Her work consists heavily of gaming and liquor licensing applications and compliance matters. In her position as the Education Chair, Carolyn brings a breadth of experience to the Nevada Paralegal Association. Prior to moving to Las Vegas in 2004, Carolyn owned and operated her own business in British Columbia, Canada, of which a portion of the business was an accredited private school. In this position Carolyn was responsible for the curriculum and maintaining the school’s annual compliance and accreditation. Carolyn also worked as a substitute teacher for School District 57. Upon relocating to Nevada, Carolyn worked as an HR and Compliance Manager in the local gaming economy and ultimately decided to go back to school for a career change. In 2008 she graduated Suma Cum Laude from FMU with an Associate of Science Degree/ Most recently, Carolyn completed NALA’s Federal certification exam in May 2011, earning the CP designation. Carolyn plans on continuing her education and intends to complete NALA’s advanced certification in the next year.
She is a member of the CCBA; NALA; NPA and the Bar & Tavern Association. Carolyn enjoys volunteering; supporting various community organizations including Opportunity Village, Autism Speaks, Lied Animal Shelter and the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum. |
